Apart from routine servicing and checking or replacement of ancilliary components no attempt should be made to carry out engine repairs with the engine in the vehicle.

Having removed the engine from the car it may be assumed that all the tinware will have to come off before any major overhauls are carried out. Once the fan housing assembly is removed together with the manifolds and heat exchangers and the support beam, the dismantling of the other components will be explained later.
