How Does Digital Voltmeter Circuit Diagram Work?

This circuit is useful to measure the voltage with the help of 7-segment display. The main IC used in this circuit is ICL 7107. It has many advantages such as the high performance, high accuracy, high display stability, has 3.5digit ADC, 7-segment decoder, 7-segment controller. Analog input voltage is converted to digital by ICL 7107, and then converted into 7-segment format and displayed on 7-segment. ADC in 7107 is the dual slope type ADC.
Resistor R1 and Capacitor C1 work as the internal clock. Capacitor C2 is used to neutralize the internal reference voltage fluctuation. This voltmeter is able to measure the voltage between 0-200 volts. The measurement limit can be adjusted by changing the value of resistor R4.

R4 = 0 : measurement limit 0-2V
R4 = 1.2k : measurement limit 0-20V
R4 = 12k : measurement limit 0-200V
